Nanna Valerie Baum (1982) studied Anthropology, International Development Studies, and Children’s Rights at the International School for Humanities and Social Science (ISHSS, University of Amsterdam). She specialized in Child Labour Studies and conducted research with Girl Domestic Workers in Bangladesh; this resulted in a Masters Dissertation about the 'Quality of Life' of girl domestics. After graduation she joined IREWOC in March 2009 as a junior researcher and conducted follow-up research on the supply chains of girl domestics in the rural areas of Bangladesh. Since April 2009, Nanna is a multiplier of the Global Education Network of Young Europeans (GLEN) (and joins the GTZ in Ethiopia for an internship in September 2009) which aims at contributing to fair South-North relations. Her main interests are gender, child labour, migration, education and development.
