Anna Ensing (1980) studied Development Studies at the Centre for International Development Issues Nijmegen (CIDIN, University of Nijmegen). She specialised in ethnic social movements in Latin America and conducted fieldwork in Chile, which resulted in a master thesis about the Mapuche (indigenous) movement. After graduation she worked for 6 months as a junior researcher for Cordaid and participated in a research project on urban youth in Lima, Peru. In September 2005 Anna started the Master's programme Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of Utrecht and completed this degree with fieldwork in Peru, where she studied neighbourhood organisations in Lima.

Anna started working for IREWOC as a junior researcher in January 2007 for the project on the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Latin America. She took responsibility for the research conducted in Peru. She is now involved in a new IREWOC project, for which she is conducting research on the worst forms of child labour in Bangladesh.
