Sonja Zweegers (1974) studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam, and graduated in September 2002. Her final thesis was based on research conducted in Vietnam, where she studied cultural conceptions of hygiene, within the context of a UNICEF school hygiene and sanitation project. Before coming to IREWOC she worked at the International School of Amsterdam and Health Action International, an international NGO working towards improved access to, and rational use of, medicines in developing countries. Presently she provides IREWOC with editing and web services, and assists in the building of the child labour literature database. She is also working on a proposal for an Asian and African extension to the IREWOC Worst Forms project.
