The garbage dumps are located in the border districts of Lima; this is where a substantial portion of the population sorts and cleans the waste material for further processing.The picture is taken in the research location Las Lomas de Carabayllo. Las Lomas de Carabayllo has, since the 1960s, been an end station for waste materials collected throughout the entire Lima area. Informal deposits are often next to people's houses.
