Close to Santa Filomena is the small mining community Tres Mil. A family migrated from Cuzco to work and live here. The four children (18, 16, 8 and 12 years old) all help in gold mining. The enter the shaft and look for ore. They also go to school, in Santa Filomena, which is located at around one hour walking from their house.
